Message from the 5th District Liaison Amy Robins: "Please go check the stormdrains on your block to make sure they are not clogged. I've seen some cleared then re-clogged due to stormwater runoff taking people's front yards and alleys (a post for another time) into the street.
IF YOUR STORMDRAIN IS CLOGGED, please report it TODAY using www.rva311.com (link below) there is also a nifty app for smart phones.
DPU is working to clear as many stormdrains as possible before the rain. However, they will not be able to get to all the drains in the city. If you are physically able to, I would suggest shoveling it out. Be sure to take the shoveled out material as far from the drain as possible, so it doesn't re-clog in first few minutes of rain.
Again, please use the link below to report. I will not be able to keep up with comments. If you've already reported a clogged drain you can EMAIL me the TICKET NUMBER at Amy.Robins(at)richmondgov.com"

Happy first day of school for many Maymont neighborhood kids! Adults.....Please take a little extra care around the school buses. The drivers and kids are all learning the routine. Waiting for that flashing stop sign can be frustrating (especially when ahem I'm running late!) but it's not worth risking someone's safety. ... See MoreSee Less
